The U.S. Department of Commerce has selected GOA to participate
in its International Buyer Program (IBP) for the 13th straight year.
The IBP recognizes GOA as one of only a handful of major trade
shows from over 7,000 annually in the U.S. to receive this
designation, and promotes the show to international business
executives through their worldwide network of embassies and
consulates.
We work closely with the U.S. Department of Commerce in advance and on show site to partner international buyers and American suppliers. In advance, we assist buyers in contacting their local U.S. Commercial Services specialists to make arrangements to maximize their participation at the show.
On site, the U.S. Department of Commerce operates an International Business Center (IBC) booth 1433 on the show floor. The IBC booth personnel help coordinate appointments between international buyers and U.S. suppliers, and provide export and financial assistance information.
What is the International Buyer Program?
The IBP is a joint government-industry effort that brings thousands of international buyers to the United States for business-to-business matchmaking with U.S. firms exhibiting at major industry trade shows. Every year, the IBP results in approximately a billion dollars in new business for U.S. companies, and increased international attendance for participating U.S. trade show organizers.
Interested in participating?
If you would like to discuss your international business interests before the show, you can contact your local U.S. Export Assistance Center, which offer export counseling, local events, advocacy and more.
The International Business Center will be located on the exhibit floor of the Miami Beach Convention Center. Complimentary services at the International Business Center include meeting rooms, export counseling, and matchmaking meetings provided by the U.S. Department of Commerce staff. There is also an online B2B Matchmaking opportunity for exhibitors to prearrange appointments with international delegates. You will be contacted individually regarding this opportunity. This online service allows pre-show and post-show communications with potential buyers, agent/distributors, licensees, joint-venture partners, etc. At past IBP shows, these efforts have led to numerous export successes and tens of thousands of dollars in U.S. export sales.
To participate in the International Buyer Program, please check off the IBP product categories online marked U.S. Commercial Service/International Buyer Program when you update your expo guide listing. Your information will be included in the 2016 U.S. Export Interest Directory at GOA. To review or make changes to your expo guide listing click here. The deadline to make changes to your expo guide listing and be included in the IBP directory is January 5, 2016. If you have any questions please contact Laurie Olszewski (laurie@flprint.org).
